The Broken Family Band ("Like Fugazi but with larger bellies") headline the start of Track & Field's annual Winter Sprinter festival. They were meant to close out a bill featuring Fonda 500 and The Beatnik Filmstars, but with Fonda 500 pulling out due to illness they end up playing two sets, revising the setlist to fit the quiet/loud divide they played at the Portland Arms a few months earlier.

In some ways the recording's less than ideal; the first verse or so of Kissing In The Rain is missing due to the unexpected early start, whilst the second set is in "fake stereo" due to issues with the recording rig. Despite that, the small venue leads to a warm-sounding boot that generally sounds much better than I'd expected. Between this and the aforementioned Portland Arms gig you've got live versions of a fair chunk of the new Balls album, for those who haven't picked up a copy at gigs yet.
