Notes by someone who attended the gig

Alejandro Escovedo made an incredible return to live performance this past weekend. Both nights were special, it would be impossible to say which was the better of the two. The band behind him was very powerful and they played their hearts out. Alejandro looked stronger and sang with more passion than I have ever witnessed. As always, his sense of humor was at the ready and some of his asides were hilarious. The bit about the missing lyrics sheet was inspired. Alejandro made it clear he was back and nothing was going to stand in his way.

This is the set list from the first night. The second night was a bit different (including an incendiary I Wanna Be Your Dog). There were some new tunes and an old one played live for the first time (Tugboat). The cover of Dark Eyes was particularly moving.
