The "early Fairport" set from the Cropredy Festival in 2002, the 35th anniversary of the band. The line-up includes Gerry Conway, Judy Dyble, Ashley Hutchings, Iain Matthews, Simon Nicol, Dave Swarbrick and Richard Thompson, together with other guests.

A great performance, and this bootleg captures the entire gig. Fairport have themselves released an "official bootleg" from Cropredy 2002, but it omits some of the best bits of this set (including the rarely performed Tale In Hard Time).

Note:I was led to believe this was taken from a BBC Radio Wales broadcast. It is in fact (as pointed out by the recipient of a recent trade) 'merely' a very clear audience recording, with a little less bass than would be expected from an FM or soundboard source. It's nevertheless a definite upgrade on another set of Cropredy recordings which commonly circulate.

Richard Thompson's set is also available from the same source.
