Now unavailable early album, released on Pukka Records in March 1982.
Oyster Band - English Rock 'n' Roll: The Early Years 1800-1850
Disc 1
The Prentice Boy
Rufford Park / Bobbing Joe
Sons Of Freedom
A Longport Hymn (Prosser)
Annan Water
Abroad As I Was Walking
Bold Wolfe
Old Molly Oxford
Slippin' And Slidin'
The Dockyard Gate
Holligrave (Kearey)
Wayfaring Stranger
One of four early OysterBand albums which are now unavailable (and were never released
on CD in the first place). The vinyl sourcing of this boot is evident but not overly
distracting. Whilst not as strong as their later efforts, its an interesting listen and
highly enjoyable.
All tracks are (Trad. arr. Oyster Band) except where indicated. The band's
own compositions are purely instrumental.
