Rudimentary sound quality, but a great performance from the very start (an energetic version of For Shame Of Doing Wrong, with lengthy instrumental work-outs). This is a reuniting of one of my favourite lineups, with Simon Nicol, Dave Pegg and Dave Mattacks joined by John Kirkpatrick on accordion and concertina and Sue Harris on piano, oboe and hammered dulcimer.

The Gas Almost Works is a last-minute substitution for those staples of the '79 tour, Garrick's Delight and Flaxley Green Dance. Some of this set may have been released on an official Fairport video which came out in 1982, and details of that tape also include Sunnyvista (not on this recording).

The filler was relocated here from the More Guitar bootleg set, a four-disc affair which comprises the Bayou '88 broadcasts, a Cambridge Folk Festival '80 appearance and the 1981 Tuts FM. These two tracks are acoustic performances by Richard and Linda and are taken from a Radio Trent broadcast.
