Recorded live at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, California on June 6, 1982 (late show).

The culmination of the tempestuous Richard and Linda U.S. tour, these two shows at the Great American Music Hall are apparently widely regarded as fairly poor concerts, with the strain of the whole experience starting to tell on all concerned.

This late show sounds weaker than the early one, with Linda's vocals on I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight a struggle (and she loses the words at one point fairly early on). That song also gains a slightly unusual instrumental introduction. Many tracks here seem to cut very close to the bone - Richard's possibly never sounded more bitter than during Hard Luck Stories, which (callous as it may sound) is a fascinating listen as a result.

This is presumably recorded by the same taper who did the early show. It's not the best audience recording - a little boomy, but I've certainly heard worse, and for historical significance these shows are essential.
