- Recorded live for Andy Kershaw's
BBC Radio One programme on July 14, 1997.
A fairly tinny but perfectly clear audience recording of a gig from the Industry
tour, this one rearranged slightly to compensate for the lack of Danny Thompson on bass (who was
taken ill and unable to join the performance). Christine Collister provides female vocals and
sings the lead on Mrs. Rita.
These shows are probably some of the most overtly political Thompson has played to date,
and the tone is set by the opening trilogy of songs about life in Thatcher's Britain. That said,
with some notable exceptions (e.g. Last Shift) I tend to feel the songs on the
Industry album aren't up to Thompson's usual high standards.
The first set of filler material is from the Songwriter's Workshop tour in November 1996,
whilst the second is part of an Andy Kershaw appearance - the final track fades out at the end.
