Richard Thompson's 2003 tour of the UK was one of his best for years. For most people this will probably be the best representative of that tour, as the sound quality is the best of the recordings I've heard. A little vocal-heavy and slightly on the tinny side, but perfectly listenable.
As I was at the Newcastle gig a few days later, I obviously prefer that recording for personal reasons, although the sound quality isn't as high. The setlists are identical, and the performances are both top-notch, so there's little to choose between the two dates on that score. Particularly good audience participation on this one.
The pause before I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight is due to, of all things, a loss of electric lighting in the venue. The She Said It Was Destiny false start is explained by:
"I know this song in two keys, and that was both at once."
